AHIMA 2013 – CQM, MU and Value-based Purchasing

The 85th AHIMA Convention and Exhibit will draw health information management (HIM) thought leaders and professionals and healthcare executives from all areas of health informatics and information management for a weeklong focus on HIM’s global transformation. The 2013 AHIMA Convention and Exhibit will be held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Preconvention events will be held October 26-27; the convention and exhibits will be held from October 27-30.
On Sunday, October 27 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., A316 – Building A, Lantana’s Crystal Kallem and Telligen’s Sarah Cottington will co-present the educational session, “The Convergence of Clinical Quality Measurement with Meaningful Use and Value-based Purchasing.” The objectives of this presentation include:
1. Identify components of the Quality Measurement/Quality Reporting ecosystem, including organizations and their inter-relationships, timelines, tools, standards, & regulations
2. Relate the National Quality Strategy Goals to Quality Measurement and Reporting
3. Describe Meaningful Use Stage 2 Clinical Quality Measurement/Reporting timelines
4. Read and interpret an eMeasure (HQMF std)
5. Distinguish between Quality Reporting Document Architecture Category I and Category III
6. Monitor future developments of the Quality Measurement/Reporting ecosystem
